Why medical parts are a different job
A bracket can be a little rough. An instrument component can't. Medical work concentrates everything that's hard about machining into small parts: corrosion-resistant alloys, fine finishes, edges that must not have burrs, and documentation behind every lot. Mexico already exports billions in medical devices every year, and the supplier base around that industry is where we learned the standard.
How we get there
CNC machining handles the bulk geometry in 316, 17-4 PH or titanium. Wire EDM takes over where parts get delicate: it cuts with zero contact force, so a thin-walled component keeps its shape, and it leaves Ra 0.8 µm straight off the machine. For 17-4 PH parts that need hardening, the aging treatment happens in house and the critical dimensions get finished after it.
Documentation first
Every lot ships with a dimensional report and material certification, with full traceability from bar stock to box. We hold ISO 9001:2015 and we're transparent about not holding ISO 13485 today; for many subcomponents, fixtures and instrument parts, that's exactly the right sourcing level, and you decide with real information.
What materials do you machine for medical work?
Stainless 316 and 17-4 PH, titanium Ti-6Al-4V, aluminum and engineering plastics like PEEK alternatives (PTFE, polycarbonate). Materials ship with certificates.
Are you ISO 13485 certified?
No. We operate under ISO 9001:2015 with lot traceability and dimensional reporting. Many instrument components, fixtures and device subcomponents are sourced at that level; if your part requires ISO 13485, we will tell you straight and discuss whether our roadmap fits your timeline.
What finishes can you achieve?
Machined finishes to Ra 0.8 µm by EDM and finer by grinding and polishing. Burr-free edges on request, verified under magnification.
Can you handle small, delicate parts?
Yes. Wire EDM cuts without touching the part, so thin walls and fragile geometries keep their shape. That is a real advantage on small instrument components.
